Marie Claire started her career as an elementary English and African culture teacher in a state school in Kinshasa, DRC in 1988. In 2000, after being promoted to a pedagogical advisor, she began professional development training in child-centred methodology and active and participatory teaching. In 2006, she was recognized as a trainer in active and participatory teaching for all Protestant schools in DRC.

In 2015, she completed her Master of Arts in Quality Education for Sub-Saharan African countries from the University of Bamberg, Germany. Upon her return, she established a leadership and entrepreneurship club in town schools. She was awarded the title of national mentor and accompanied a team of four students to the youth pan-African leadership conference in the USA. After coming back in 2017, she worked with a young African entrepreneur who set up a school in a rural area for financially challenged children.
