John Mayom began his career as a teacher after completing his Advanced Level (A’ Level) in Uganda in 2002. He attended several teacher training courses with humanitarian organizations in the conflict-stricken South Sudan. Mayom earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Kampala International University in Uganda and his Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Nairobi in Kenya. With over 15 years of teaching experience in both secondary and tertiary education, Mayom has mentored teachers at Greenbelt Academy as a Senior Fellow under the auspices of the ALforEducation Master Teacher Programme (MTP). He is a passionate educator who encourages students’ potential and fosters a love for learning by creating an interactive classroom atmosphere where his enthusiasm motivates students to excel.
Mayom has an in-depth understanding of education foundation and language teaching, and he utilizes evidence-based methods tailored to individual student needs. As a teacher mentor at Dr John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology in the Republic of South Sudan, Mayom ensures that all student teachers comprehend complex concepts, regardless of their backgrounds. He advocates for innovation, integrating technology and creative techniques to maintain student engagement. His commitment has significantly impacted students’ academic and personal development, and many acknowledge his mentorship as crucial to their success.
