Welcome to The Learning Community

A global community of practice where teachers learn from the research, and from each other.

The Learning Community is TLI's free Virtual Learning Workshop Series: for teachers, by teachers. Since February 2026, we have explored Student Engagement and Self-Determination Theory, Cognitive Apprenticeship and Making Thinking Visible, and, most recently, classroom stories from teachers across Africa sharing what they tried and what actually happened. Every session pairs an idea grounded in the learning sciences with the reality of a working classroom. You are not an audience here. You are a practitioner among practitioners.

Next session, Thursday 3 September 2026

The Power of Our Words: how what we say shapes what students believe they can do, and what they will do.
Free, live on Zoom. 16:30 WAT · 17:30 CAT · 18:30 EAT · 15:30 GMT · 10:30 EST.
